Description
The Victorian Avery needle case is made from sheet brass decorated with flowers and a basket weave pattern. There are four hinged compartments or pockets, holding four paper packets of different sized needles, all of the same period as the case and probably the original ones. Avery produced different styles and sizes of needle cases; this one is the ‘Beatrice’ design.
Conndition: The brass case is in overall good conditon. The hinges are all in working order and the case folds easily and well. The paper of some of the packets of needles is fragile. The clips to the top and bottom of the case work well and hold the case firmly closed.
