This is a stunning piece. Its modern use could be as an impressive candle holder with its own snuffer but it is likely to have held a wick. Its weight (over 4kg) and size would suggest that it could have been placed on a bar or table as a cigar lighter.

Currently, we are only able to deliver to the UK mainland, however, if you are wishing to make a purchase from outside the UK, we ask that you e-mail us prior to making your purchase on info@st-martins-antiques.co.uk so we can provide a cost through an overseas shipper.
For deliveries within the UK Mainland, there are 3 categories, not all categories are available for all items, the categories available for your purchases will show up next to the items once they are placed in your shopping cart.
Click & Collect: All items are available for click & collect and must be collected within 7 days of purchase. Items can be collected in person or via a third party instructed by yourself from St Martins Antiques Centre, anytime during opening hours, from 24 hours after purchase. We ask that you bring ID with you, or in the case of a third party we have notification from you that they are authorised to collect the items. Collection outside of opening hours can be arranged on request.
Standard Delivery/Postage: Standard delivery is available for the majority of items up to 20Kg that can be packed in a box no bigger than 61 x 46 x 46 cm. Items will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48 or Royal Mail Special Delivery (signature required on delivery) depending on size and value of the items. Charges may vary.
Arrange Delivery/Courier (separate charge): Items in this category will be for items that do not fulfil standard delivery. You will be required to check-out your item(s) and a quote for a courier charge will be sent with a link for payment within 24 hours. A refund on your item will be given if you choose not to accept the quote & you are unable to arrange your own delivery. Approximate courier estimates are given below as a guide only. All quotes are based on a shared delivery.
If you purchase more than 1 item, your shipping costs may be combined or you may need to choose which delivery option you want for each item.
We aim, to dispatch your item(s) within 5 working days. Orders placed over the weekend or Bank Holiday will be dealt with on the next working day, therefore, please allow up to 10 working days for your items to arrive.
You will receive a notification when your item is dispatched, all Royal Mail items will be tracked & certain items will require a signature on receipt.
Occasionally due to unforeseen circumstances delivery may be delayed, but you will be kept informed.

If it is within your statutory rights to receive a refund, we will happily refund the full purchase price, excluding the original postage costs once items are received from you in the condition in which they were sent.
Items must be returned within 14 days by the same means as it was delivered to you ie: Courier/Royal Mail, with insurance to the value of the item. We do not refund return postage costs incurred by you, nor can we take responsibility for items that do not reach us.
If a refund is given, please allow 14 days for the refund to clear.
